Doctrinal Statement
- We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:19-21).
- We believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; John 10:30; John 4:24).
- We believe that God created the heavens, the earth and all life contained therein from nothing (Genesis 1) and by his creative power, all things are held together and sustained (Colossians 1). We believe that man was originally created in God's image and after His likeness (Genesis 1 & 2).
- We believe in the Deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35); His shed blood for the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14); His bodily resurrection (John 11:25); His ascension (Acts 1:11); and His imminent return for His church and His eventual return to establish His kingdom on earth (Revelation 19:11-16).
- We believe all people are sinful by nature as well as by choice (Romans 3:23), and that we are declared righteous solely by grace through faith in the person of Jesus Christ (Acts 13:38-39; Romans 3:21-30).
- We believe Satan is a literal person who is active in the world and that Hell is a place of eternal punishment of all unsaved (Job 1:6-7: Matthew 25:46: Revelation 20:14-15).
- We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, transforms believers through new birth, and assures believers of salvation with God. We also believe that His indwelling enables Christians to live godly lives (John 10:28-29, 16:8; I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Romans 8:38-39).
- We believe the visible expression of the New Testament Church is a community of regenerated and baptized believers who have declared Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives (Matthew 26:26-28, 28:19-20; Acts 2:39-47, 8:12. 20:17-28; Mark 14:22-24; I Corinthians 11:23-26; Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3:1-15, 4:14, 5:17-19).
- We believe the purpose of the local church is to worship and glorify God as a loving fellowship of believers. Church expression includes (but is not limited to) the teaching of doctrine, the practicing of the ordinances of prayer, service to the needy, evangelism, discipleship.
- We believe two ordinances were given to the local church: baptism by immersion for believers only, and the observance of the Lord's Supper in memory of Christ's atoning death.
- We believe the scriptural offices of the church are Pastors, Deacons and Deaconesses.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved to the resurrection of life and the lost to the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).
